Jason Lowe has tried most foods from far and wide, and visited a staggering number of countries in his role as food photographer and photojournalist.
A test commercial starring Ravinder Bhogal started him off directing and was quickly followed with two cinema commercials for Busaba Eathai that were both shot on location in Thailand. He has since shot commercials for BBH, RKCR/Y&R, adam&eveDDB and Golley Slater.
Jason shares a regular column with Mark Hix in The Independent, the two having formed a close working partnership whilst working together on half a dozen books.
Jason maintains close associations within the food world and works with some of the finest food producers and most inspirational chefs. He’s been awarded two Glenfiddich awards and lists Birds Eye, Marks and Spencer, Pizza Hut and Sainsbury’s among his clients. He is the photographer of choice for chefs Claudia Roden, Gennaro Contaldo and Fergus Henderson.
Not happy with just filming food, Jason also serves it up. His “Towpath Café” in Dalston serves food that is “a lesson in taste and restraint”, (Timeout). The open fronted café excels in well-sourced, high quality food.
