Missing Link Films are excited to welcome two new inspiring directors to their family-run business: Laura Scrivano and Christophe Dolcerocca.
Laura Scrivano is a first-generation Italian-Australian who grew up in from a small coastal mining town south of Sydney. She was raised on a mix of late-80s blockbusters, Australian gothic masterpieces and European avant-garde - from Back the Future to Bicycle Thieves, Picnic at Hanging Rock to Twin Peaks, and Labyrinth to La Jetée. She has directed commercials for Budweiser, FA, Scouts and Instagram, and she is currently in post-production on ITV’s new detective drama, Invisible, starring Tala Gouveia, Hugh Dennis and Jason Watkins. After working in both NYC and LA, she is now based in London.
Ben Link, Co-founder and MD of the company says “Laura is an incredibly talented person. What struck me about her when we met was her incredible energy and drive. Very happy to bring her into the “circle of trust!”.
She says: “I’m thrilled to be joining Missing Link. As soon as I met Ben and Heather I knew I we shared the same ethos, from a passion for distinct storytelling, a flair for taking risks, to their commitment to a 50/50 roster. The boutique, curated style of Missing Link Films makes them a natural home for my commercial work.”
Christophe, who directs under the name Dolcerocca is Danish and French, with a Corsican background. He was a successful commercials editor, until he changed course and became a director. As a beauty and fashion director, his meticulous eye elevates any visual concept. He simply knows how to make it pop. He has directed commercials for Lancome, Swatch, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Telia.
He says “I’ve been watching the UK market and I see a general sense of beauty and fashion with opportunities to challenge conventions. My Scandinavian, authentic, slice-of-life approach, mixed well with my French larger-than-life mentality. These two elements always shine through my work and I feel like my temperament is a perfect match for the UK. I love the intimate approach of Missing Link Films, which always make for a stronger team. I simply feel at home.”
Ben Link comments: “Dolcerocca is a wonderful artist with a captivating style. As a person I really loved his warmth and sense of humour”
