Creative Post House UNIT and Colourist Nick Dalby have collaborated again with emerging directing talent James Heaphy, to deliver this stunning cinematic grade on the latest promo for Laucan and the new track ‘Wait for the Impact’.
On grading the promo Nick comments
"This apocalyptic video has a great meaning for me, the way we follow the 3 subjects always staying behind and their lives crossing over with an impending doom overhead. We used this in the grade with dark inky blacks and blues and a red sky and harsh detail particularly in thier faces.
Working with James on this was a great experience as ever. With such a soulful and atmospheric track, it needed a dramatic cinematic film to go compliment it. I think we've achieved that with the dark and surreal look into the lives of three very different people while a meteor is heading to impact earth. For me it tells a great story of our diverse and exciting city we live in, London. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.”
Director James Heaphy adds “The idea behind the video was to explore the themes of prayer and ritual. Physical acts in which we can resolve inner conflict but also have ability to affect the world around us”.
