Work are excited to announce the launch of their new East London arm ‘Work East’ on Old Nichol Street, E2, which will run alongside their current St Martin’s Court office.
Co-founder/Partner Jane Dilworth comments that ‘We decided to launch in East London for a couple of reasons. Firstly there seems to be a new generation of creative companies from design, agencies, production companies etc thriving in the East End of London, working together and stimulating a whole new direction in creativity and that is something that we felt Work would fit in well with conceptually. Secondly we as a company needed to grow a bit and we felt it would be far more interesting to grow in the East's creative environment as an arm of Work, similar to our New York office, with the right people, rather than move from our much loved offices in St Martin’s Court and create one big Editing company in London. Something which none of us felt comfortable with.
Work East is a very exciting project for a number of reasons. It's a relatively untried idea of having two offices in the same city for an editing company, so it will be fascinating to see how the two offices evolve themselves. The hope is that there is a lot of flexibility staff wise between the two offices, but on the other hand we might find that the East needs to develop it's own culture and structure to really thrive in it's environment.
We are also excited by the idea of drawing in some different styles of projects that maybe sit more akin to the new media and high tech industries based there and are looking forward to working with some of the younger talent at companies that seem to be blazing a trail there.’
This also coincides with the arrival of editors Rachael Spann and Anne Perri. Rachael has been working at Work as a freelance editor since 2009 whilst also building up a strong client base in East London, so having her join permanently now is perfect. Anne Perri has joined us from The Quarry, basing herself in East London has been working non-stop since joining including a Shots Contender Barlcays ad for dir James Rouse, cut West. Its not only Rachael and Annie editing Eastside, Rich picked up his latest Visa spot here with BBDO NY and Art has been working with the lovely Kim Gehrig from Somesuch&Co and Fallon on their new Cadbury Christmas campaign. Now with offices central and east, directors and agencies can choose where they'd like to be based, the best of both worlds.
