Crossroads Films deliver the divas for Snickers and AMV BBDO

Russell Bates, top director at leading production company, Crossroads Films, has delivered a piece of directorial magic for AMV BBDO and their hilarious new campaign for Snickers.

Immediately named Campaign's pick of the week, the first ad in this series of laugh-out-loud spots features the diva's diva, Ms Joan Collins, as the new face of Snickers, strutting her stuff in the unlikely surroundings of a football club changing room! As the alter-ego of a peckish centre forward, Ms Collins is at her most menacingly glamorous, getting the message across loud and clear that, when you're hungry, you're just not yourself until you've had a Snickers. The inspired casting was a director's dream for Russell, with our Joan also reunited with her former Dynasty nemesis, Stephanie Beacham, in one spot. Turning in perfect, snarling pre-Snickers prima donna performances, Russell milked every last comic drop from this brilliant pairing as they spar with their team mates in this series brilliantly funny encounters.

Russell says: "Life is good when you get to collaborate with two legendary divas and a great creative team on the same job. We wanted to place Joan and Stephanie in a totally unexpected setting, and surround them with strong improvisational actors who could pick up cues quickly. We did a lot of work to put all the right ingredients together, and then kept the mood loose and easy on the set. I think that comes through in the final product."
